Adidas Launches Recycle Collection for Yoga Lovers

As much as 80 percent of the rubbish that pollutes the ocean area consists of plastic.

In order to take action to address the problem, Adidas tries to turn that waste into a product of value.

Collaborating with Wanderlust-yoga lifestyle labels, and Parley for the Oceans, an environmental rescue agency, the German brand has launched products made from recycled materials.

As reported by the Independent page, the collection consists of a variety of recycling options, including crop tops, bomber jackets, leggings, onesies, shorts, and sports bags.

Every part of the product, it is said, is inspired by the power of the ocean with its graphic ornaments and palettes of gray, black, and blue imagery.

The price of the product ranges between 32,95 pounds for superiors, up to 59,95 pounds for yoga pants.

According to Alison Stewart, Adidas Women's Senior Director, women who have used products from this label are very concerned about environmental care.

"Now, in our products, they can make a difference to the practices and conditions of our planet at the same time," he said.

Last year, Adidas also launched sports shoes made of marine plastic waste with UltraBoost series, UltraBoost X, and UltraBoost Uncaged range. Each shoe is made of 11 plastic bottles.

Similarly, the rope, heel layer and sock cover are all made from recycled materials. The collection is very popular in the market and has sold about one million pairs.

In a further effort to end the pollution, the brand is also changing the use of plastic bags with paper material in its retail stores. As a result, nearly 70 million plastic bags have been reduced.
