Messages deletion feature is still absent from Messenger, although it has been applied for some time in WhatsApp also owned by Facebook. Messenger actually also has a messaging feature that can be deleted itself if it has been past a certain time set with the previous timer. However, this is only available in secret encrypted mode (Secret) which is encrypted and does not apply to ordinary chats.
