Through a concept smartphone called Apex, Vivo became the first gadget manufacturer in the world to implement an under-display fingerprint scanner feature, where a fingerprint scanner is embedded in the screen.
As a result, Apex does not need to provide a special place for fingerprint scanner like on the back. Users can just touch the screen of the phone to perform fingerprint input.
Xiaomi did not seem to want to miss. Recently rumors that the candidate flagship manufacturer from China, Mi 7, will also be equipped with under-display fingerprint scanner.
The indication was expressed directly by Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun, in response to a Weibo forum user who joked that Mi 7 might have a fingerprint scanner on screen.
